Many things can cause a Fire Stick remote not to work. The most common issues include problems with the batteries, obstructions that block the signal from the remote, and interference from other electronics. This article explains what to do when your Firestick remote is not working.

Here are Some Reasons why Your Firestick Remote is Not Working

  • Batteries
  • Pairing: If your remote isn’t paired with your Fire Stick, it won’t work.
  • Distance: Fire Stick remotes use Bluetooth, not infrared, so they have a theoretical range of about 30 feet.
  • Obstructions: If there’s a direct line of sight between your Fire Stick and remote, it won’t work.
  • Interference: If a device interferes with Bluetooth connections, it can prevent your remote working correctly.
  • Compatibility.

  • Select “Settings” from the FireStick home screen on the top menu bar.
  • Open Controllers & Bluetooth Devices on the next screen.
  • You will see the list of all the connected devices. Just choose the device you wish to unpair and follow the onscreen instruction.
