Sometimes users may encounter the iPhone photos not showing up on a computer. This can happen to old iPhones like SE/6/7/8/X/11, and even the latest iPhone 12 series, especially on Windows PCs. Solution 1: Restart Your iPhone And Windows PC

This is a straightforward method to try and also secure your files. Users don’t have to do a backup of their files before performing this. Please make sure the iPhone is NOT locked, and it is showing the home screen when you plug it in and connect your USB to your PC. Try enabling Windows AutoPlay, and when you do, choose what should happen when you plug in with your iPhone on your PC, and it allows you to import photos from Camera Roll to PC.

On Mac, only photos on Camera Roll could be displayed, so there is no way to display pictures on Photo Library or Photo Stream. To check photos from My Photos, Albums, Photo Stream, Places & People, etc., you might need some professional iOS data managers like AnyTrans. It enables you to preview all iPhone photos, including iCloud photos, and you can transfer them to a computer or iTunes/iCloud/iOS device.

Step 1. Connect your iPhone and computer:

  • Download AnyTrans
  • Launch it on your computer
  • Connect your iPhone to the computer via USB cable
  • Click the “Photos” category on the right side

Step 2. Choose the album you want to view

Scroll down to the category management page, all photos on your iPhone can be displayed. You can view all the pictures from My Photos or any one of the albums like Places, People, Live Photo, etc. And you can move your mouse to the top-right corner. Here, you can choose to download any photos to a computer, upload photos to iCloud, transfer them to another iDevice, and more.

Step 3. View your iPhone photos on a computer

Tap on the corresponding button at the top right corner to do the task. For example, if you want to move the photo files to the computer, Select All or some and click the To PC button.

Here’s how to restart your iPhone and Windows PC:

  • Press Windows key + I to open Settings.
  • Click on Devices.
  • Click on AutoPlay.
  • Toggle the switch for ‘Use AutoPlay for all media devices’ under AutoPlay to turn it on.
  • Reconnect your iPhone and check for any improvements.

Note: You can also set AutoPlay defaults for a removable drive, memory card, and your iPhone under Choose AutoPlay defaults.
