What is a soft reset?
A soft reset forcefully power-cycles the iPhone and clears all memory. By doing so, you won’t lose any data, and you won’t wipe the device. How to reset iPhone 7 & iPhone 7 Plus
Apple has changed the soft reset instructions for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. To do a soft reset, just hold down the power button and the lower volume button for approximately 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen. The iPhone will then reboot and be ready for use.
How to reset iPhone 6 or older
If you have an iPhone 6 or older, you can soft reset it by holding down the following two buttons: Power + Lock
