What Does System Restore Do In Windows?

System Restore is built to create a snapshot of all working systems so you can restore it in the future if anything happens to your PC. However, if you recently installed an app, game, or program that triggers your system to run poorly, crashes frequently, or causes unexpected delays. Initiating System Restore will remove any applications and drivers installed after restoring the created point.

How to recover deleted files with system restore points

To restore files, make sure you have backups created before. Follow the steps shown below:

  • Locate the file/folder or driver where you lost your file.
  • A new window will pop up. Select the Previous Versions tab present at the top.
  • You will notice several backups; choose the one you want to restore by clicking on it.
  • Click on the Restore option once you’ve selected the file you want to restore.
  • A message will appears asking if you are sure you want to restore the data. Click on Restore.
