Did you know that your iPhoneXR has quite a few hidden tips and tricks you can have fun with? Keep reading, and we’ll show you how to use those tricks.
Let’s face it, we all like tricks since they make the use of your device much more fulfilling. This article will explain how to use your iPhone XR’s hidden tips and tricks. So, without further ado, let’s get started.

Tap to Wake

Tap to Wake is a great quick way to view your notifications without fiddling around with the Side button. You have to tap on the iPhone XR’s screen to wake it up.

Take a Photo Without Touching your iPhone

Did you know you can take a photo on your iPhone without even touching the device? Yes, this is possible. Simply press the volume button on your Apple EarPods.
There are moments when you’re capturing a video and realize you need to take a still without interrupting the video recording. Just press the shutter button next to the video one, and you have your still picture without missing a beat.

Access App Switcher Faster

You swipe up from the Home bar and hold a bit to get to the App Switcher. But this can be time-consuming. Instead, try swiping up from the left edge at a 45-degree angle. You’ll end up in the App Switcher every single time.

Play your Favorite Tunes on the Timer

Some people like the soothing sounds of their favorite music to lull them into a peaceful sleep at night. However, you do not want to be woken up by the same music in the middle of the night. Use the clock app under the “when time ends” and the “stop playing” tag option to switch off the music at an appropriate time after you sleep.

Open Control Center

Swipe down from the right edge or the right ear (the area next to the notch) to reveal the Control Center. You can customize this area by adding extra controls for the Apple TV remote, Accessibility controls, and more.

Pay with Apple Pay

To pay with Apple Pay, press the Side button twice (it’s the big button on the phone’s right side). After that, hold your phone up to your face to scan with Face ID.

Your iPhone Has a Hidden Touchpad

This is a fascinating iPhone XR tip. To navigate quickly on your iPhone, use the cursor. Most iPhones with 3D touch capabilities have this option hidden right under your keyboard.
Simply press and hold firmly anywhere on the keyboard to bring the trackpad to life. On the iPad, drag two fingers on the keyboard for the same activation, and then your finger will move the cursor any way desired.

Quickly Switch Between Recent Apps

A fantastic gesture lets you quickly and seamlessly switch between the last app you used. Just swipe right on the app to return to the previously used app. Right swipe again to go back further. If you left-swipe immediately, you’ll get back to the app you were using initially.
But if you interact with an app, this system resets, and you’ll have to swipe right instead to get to the previously used app (it’s a bit confusing at first, but you’ll get the hang of it).

Flash Notification Alerts

If a visual notification alert is your preference instead of a regular ringtone or vibrations, The iPhone XR offers you an option to enhance your user experience.
You can customize your settings so that the phone’s camera flashes and blinks several times to alert you of incoming notifications. Head over to Settings, then Accessibility, then Audio/Visual, and switch on the LED Flash for alerts toggle.

Take a Screenshot

There’s no Home button on the iPhone XR. So how do you take a screenshot? You press the Side button and the Volume Down button together.

Use Siri

To use Siri, just press and hold the Side button. You can also set up Hey Siri functionality if you find the Side button too tedious.
