Apple has finally unveiled the long-awaited iPhone SE2020 model. Priced at $399. Since it is the new ‘affordable’ iPhonein the market, it is only fair to compare it with older iPhones that have been given the ‘affordable’ tag over the last two years – iPhone XRand the iPhone 11.

DESIGN

Basically the new iPhone SE looks a lot like the iPhone 8but with the innards from the iPhone 11 and new colours.
You get a TouchID at the front with massive bezels at the top and bottom. At the back you get a single rear camera.
The iPhone 11, on the other hand, has two rear cameras, a notch on top and an edge-to-edge screen as major differentiators. The iPhone XR from 2017 has a single rear camera but the same edge-to-edge screen with a notch.

DISPLAY

With iPhone SE 2020 you get a 4.7-inch Retina HD screen with 1334×750 pixels resolution at 326ppi, 1400:1 contrast ratio, True Tone display and 625 nits max brightness. The iPhone XR and iPhone 11 has a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1792×828-pixel resolution.

PROCESSOR

The new iPhone SE uses the A13 Bionic chipset like the iPhone 11, bettering the A12 inside the iPhone XR.
Both iPhone 11 and SE 2020 have third-gen Neural engine as well while the iPhone XR has second-generation Neural engine.

CAMERA

The iPhone SE 2020 and iPhone XR has the same 12-megapixel wide-angle sensor with f1.8 aperture and digital zoom of upto 5x on the back, while offering a 7-megapixel shooter on the front. iPhone 11 on the other hand has two rear cameras including a 12-megapixel Wide and Ultra wide sensors with f/2.4 and f/1.8 aperture, and also offers 12-megapixel TrueDepth camera on the front. It additionally features optical image stabilisation (OIS), a brighter True Tone flash and Portrait Lighting with six effects, as well as second-generation Smart HDR for photos.
All three phones are capable of 4K video recording up to 60fps.

STORAGE

The iPhone XR and 11 come in 64GB, 256GB and 512GB storage sizes and there’s the same 64GB entry-level on the iPhone SE, with 128GB and 256GB as the other options.
All three handsets have support for a second SIM in the form of an eSIM.

SECURITY

Apple iPhone SE 2020 brings the second-gen TouchID onboard, which also acts as a home button while the iPhone XR and iPhone 11 get FaceID unlock system.

BATTERY LIFE

The iPhone SE 2020 can run for the same time as the iPhone 8. The iPhone XR, however, can last for 1.5 hours longer than the iPhone 8 Plus. On the other hand, the iPhone 11 comes with a better battery than both the SE 2020 and the XR, one that lasts an hour longer than the XR.
