After a while of using your PlayStation 4 console, you suddenly notice it takes time to respond or doesn’t operate properly as before. The best solution at this moment is to clear the system’s cache. This article explains how to easily clear the cache on a PS4.

What is PS4 Cache?

A cache is known as temporary files and data stored on the console’s system to help improve the overall performance and is also known as the part of a computer that stores temporary data and allows you to quickly and smoothly access that data when needed.

How to Clear the Cache on Your PS4

  • Make sure your PlayStation 4 is completely off, and double-check it’s not left in rest mode to make this work.
  • Now disconnect the PS4’s power cord from the back of the console.
  • Don’t simply unplug the cord from the wall — it needs to be disconnected from the PS4 to clear the cache. Also, note that the cable on different PS4 models, such as the Pro or the Slim, may be in a different spot.
  • Wait 30 seconds, then plug the cord back into the PS4.

Your PS4’s cache should now be clear, and you can test its performance by starting the system back up.
