Fitbit Versa can be reset to jog the system back to its proper function if it’s malfunctioning or responding sluggishly. If your Fitbit Versa is not responding, you can initiate a factory reset that will wipe the device clean or force reset it, rather than selling it or giving it away. If your Fitbit Versa isn’t working quite right, or if you want to save some battery life, shutting it down is the best step to take.
Learning how to factory reset or hard reset your Fitbit Versa can come in handy for several reasons. Typically, users would like to factory reset their Versa if they decide to sell or give the gadget away. However, a factory reset can also be used if you encounter problems with the device, and the basic troubleshooting steps won’t help. We’ll show you the two simple ways to erase your device in this post.

How to Hard Reset Fitbit Versa | Factory Reset or Master Reset

There are two ways to factory reset a Fitbit Versa. The easier way to wipe your watch is to do the first option, so we suggest you try this first (hard reset via Settings).

How to Reset a Fitbit Versa

Firstly, you go to the Settings menu, scroll down and tap About, then scroll down and tap Shutdown; then, hit Yes. That’s the first way to reset your Fitbit Versa. However, if the screen is not working properly, try this to force a shutdown.
Press and hold the left (single) button and right bottom button until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. Then let go, and it will restart.

If you happen to be having an issue with your Fitbit Versa and it’s not allowing you to go to the Settings menu, don’t worry. You should still be able to hard reset your Fitbit Versa using the hardwarebuttons. But, again, this procedure will wipe the device and erase your data. So be sure to backup your data before doing the steps below.
  • On the Versa, hold all three buttons for about twelve seconds. This triggers the 2-button hardware reboot after about eight seconds.
  • When the Fitbit logo appears, it disappears; release the bottom right button, then continue holding the left and top right buttons until a strong vibration indicates that the factory reset has occurred. All your data has been wiped clean.
  • This process may take several seconds, and eventually, the Fitbit logo appears, and the device boots and displays go to Fitbit.com/setup.
If you fail to release the bottom right button in time or otherwise don’t follow the procedure precisely, the Fitbit logo reappears quickly and boots without factory reset.
