Disney Plus Error Code 39 & 83 Troubleshooting

Error Code 39 & 83 are the two most common errors on Disney Plus. This is not to say that there aren’t others though. We would cross-examine others later on:
Error Code 39 simply represents the situation when the video you are trying to load can’t be viewed at that particular time. It could be due to where you live or that the contents you desire only air at certain periods of the year.
The Error 39 code can also appear if you try to stream Disney Plus with the Xboxapp. If this occurs, reboot your Xbox. You can also try streaming on another device then use the “continue watching” feature on your Xbox.

Error Code 83 occurs when you use a mobile data option to stream instead of Wi-Fi or when mobile users connect to a hotspot that doesn’t allow streaming. Rectify this by making sure you can stream on other apps like YouTube.

Troubleshooting Common Disney Plus Streaming Problems

If ever Disney Plus fails to work, it is usually related to network or internet connectivity.
Disney Plus requires a high-speed internet connection to function. This is the specification recommended to avoid streaming problems:
  • High Definition content: 5.0+ Mbps
  • 4K UHD content: 25.0+ Mbps
When faced with an issue of connectivity, one of the following messages would be displayed:
  • Error Codes like 24, 29, 42, 43, and 76
  • “Sorry, we are having trouble connecting to your account. Please re-enter your account information and try again. If the problem persists, visit the Disney+ Help Center (Error Code xx)”.
  • “We’re sorry, but we cannot play the video you requested. Please try again. If the problem persists, visit the Disney+ Help Center (Error Code xx)”.
  • “We’re currently experiencing slow Internet connection speeds. Please check to see that you are still connected to the Internet, and try again (Error Code xx)”.
  • Ensure that your internet connection is fast enough for Disney Plus using an internet speed test site. If possible, check your connection using the same device where you saw the error message.
  • If your connection is slow, or your device isn’t connected to the internet, check to see if you’re using a wired or wireless network connection. If you’re connected to Wi-Fi, try moving your router or your streaming device to achieve a stronger connection.
  • All sources of wireless interferences like cordless phones, microwaves, fans and anything else that is likely to obstruct or interfere with your connection should be removed.
  • Ensure that your Wi-Fi channel isn’t overcrowded.
  • Disable all other devices that are connected and consuming a lot of bandwidth.
  • You can use a wired Ethernet connection if possible.
  • Power cycle your network hardwareand a streaming device. Fully shut everything down, unplug from power if possible, wait a minute, and then hook everything back up.

How to Fix The Disney+ App Crashing

In the case of your Disney Plus app crashing, you can take the following steps:
Restart the Disney+ app and the device you’re watching on.Check for updates for Disney+ and your device (be it your TV, smartphone, tablet, or so on). Finally, if you still have no luck, uninstall and reinstall Disney+.

How to Fix Unknown Disney Plus Errors

This set of errors can be categorized into multiple causes like compatibility, software glitch, hardware faults and account issues. These errors are a bit vaguer than connectivity errors, but you can still fix a lot of them if you try.
When you experience this type of problem, you’ll usually see error codes and messages like these:
  • Error codes like 12, 25, 32, 83
  • Something went wrong. Please try again. If the problem persists, visit the Disney+ Help Center (Error Code xx).
  • We’re having trouble connecting to your account. Please sign out, and sign in again. If the problem persists, visit the Disney+ Help Center (Error Code xx).
After seeing the above errors, simply reload the content again. If that doesn’t smooth things out, it could be connected to your account. Troubleshoot this by logging out and then logging back in. The service should come back up after logging in again.

You might feel that your account has been hacked and compromised. Whatever reason it is, here is how to reset your password;
  • Open the Disney+ app or visit disneyplus.com.
  • On the app, click on your profile icon on the bottom bar.
  • On the web, hover over your Profile in the top right corner.
  • Click Account.
  • Click Change Password.
  • Enter your current password.
  • Then Enter your new password.
  • Once completed, click Save.
The process is the same for almost any device, whether that’s the app, Apple TV, PS5, and more. You will receive an email confirming the change.

How to Fix Disney Plus Rights Issues that Prevent Streaming

Disney does not always own streaming rights to all of the content they provide. This means that they have to take it down at some point. If you try to access content like this, it turns up a series of error codes.
Here’s what you’ll see if you experience this problem:
Error codes like 35, 36, 37, 39, 40, 41, and 44
  • We’re sorry, but you are not authorized to view this video. If you think you are seeing this message in error, visit the Disney+ Help Center (Error Code xx).
  • We’re sorry; this video is not currently available. If you think you are seeing this message in error, visit the Disney+ Help Center (Error Code xx).
  • We’re sorry, but we cannot play the video you requested. Please try again. If the problem persists, visit the Disney+ Help Center (Error Code xx).
In most cases, these error codes pop up because you’re just trying to watch something that is no longer available through Disney Plus. It will probably become available again later, as Disney rotates content, but you just won’t be able to watch it right now.
You can reload to rectify this problem though since the error code could appear accidentally.
Before you give up, check the Disney Plus list of compatible devices to make sure yours is on the list. If it is, then check your internet connection speed to make sure it’s fast enough. If it is, then you can contact Disney Plus customer service to ask when the content will return.
